Stewardship of Whitehurst
Dear Whitehurst Residents,
As your Board of Directors, our top priority is protecting the community we all love and ensuring that Whitehurst remains a wonderful place to live, relax, and play. We are writing to provide an update on the upcoming budget, share the current financial outlook, and discuss the necessary steps to remain fiscally responsible.
First, the good news: Whitehurst is not in dire financial straits, and to remain on solid footing, together we need to continue prudent spending and saving.
Our unique amenities make our community truly special - pool, baby pool, clubhouse, marina, fishing pier, basketball court, volleyball court, and playground. How many major milestones have you celebrated/commemorated at a Whitehurst facility – baby shower, birthday, anniversary, memorial, wedding, graduation? How many holidays do you spend at Whitehurst –NYE, Easter egg hunt, 4th of July fireworks, Halloween parade, Santa’s visit?
As we all know, the cost of operating, maintaining, and repairing these assets is non-trivial. The same water, wind, sunshine, and snow that make our waterfront location so beautiful and memorable also takes a heavy toll. The bad news: the pool repair could be a significant cost this year, possibly north of $100k. We’ll know more after the cover comes off when we can inspect it more thoroughly.
We encourage you to review the enclosed budget and join us at the upcoming annual meeting on April 12 at 4:00 pm to provide your input then vote on our FY26 Budget.
Thank you for your cooperation, understanding, and investment in the Whitehurst Resident Community Association.
Sincerely,
Your All Volunteer Whitehurst Board of Directors
